Whether you’re a local or simply visiting, you want to know if there’s a car boot sale on this weekend, a church jumble sale or a 5k fun run. Maybe you’re looking for a local comedy night, an amateur dramatics production, and let’s not forget carol singing or village fetes.

There are more than 800 First World War graves in over 240 cemeteries and churchyards across Somerset. Each of the names on those gravestones has a story connected to it, a story of family and of tragedy, a story of life on the battlefield and of love on the home front. Richard will be uncovering the lives of those who are buried in and around Milborne Port, commemorating those who gave their all more than a century ago.
Richard has had a love for photography for more than 20 years, building a long-lasting blog and rescuing antique photographs and cartes de visite from junk shops. A keen amateur genealogist, he has drawn his two passions together, researching First World War graves in the churchyards and cemeteries across the south of England. When not traipsing around muddy graveyards, Richard has a penchant for real ale and folk music.
All talks take place in Church House on Bathwell Lane, starting at 7.30pm and last for approximately an hour. We ask for a suggested donation of £2 per member & £5 per non-member.Don’t forget to sign up to receive the monthly BV magazine here .
