What are THEY saying?

At The BV, we pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our advertisers. It it is their success stories which speak volumes about the value we deliver. Working with The BV isn’t just about ‘placing an ad’ – we proactively engage and market our advertisers across all platforms. Read below how The BV has helped businesses like yours – and what it’s like to work with us…

The BV Magazine is the definition of true local media. Their stories are fascinating, always looking at local discussion points with an interesting and, importantly, a representative perspective. They aren’t your usual big media clickbait type, nor covering the magazine with horror stories. It's insightful, interesting, fun and on-trend news for, and from, our community. Their small team have made their articles come up in discussions more than any other media I know. They support local businesses, events and people, genuinely giving Dorset and its communities a voice.

Laura and Courtenay very generously support Dorset Mind by allowing us editorial space in each issue for topical mental health content. They also support us online, sharing and engaging with our own content. Our volunteers write for The BV and include their lived experience where possible to bring life to the content, letting people know it's OK to reach out for support and, importantly, how to do so. Subjects covered have included anxiety, LGBTQIA+, Food Poverty, Life after loss, Menopause - and much more. The benefits to us as a charity are two-fold: • Raising awareness of mental health issues - which also has a positive impact on fundraising. • Reading about the support and good work we provide across the county is a second benefit. Our aim is to deliver services county-wide, and I don't doubt that The BV contributes to people trusting the Mind brand, and us as mental health experts. I am truly grateful - besides which, I enjoy working with Laura and Courtenay, they are always professional, but make it fun too!

‘We were delighted to work with The BV Magazine this year on our pre-show magazine ahead of this year’s Royal Bath & West Show. Laura and Courtenay are a pleasure to work with, working with a great deal of enthusiasm, creativity and flexibility. In the development stages of organising an event, plans flex and change and they were both so very accommodating and understanding of our requirements. The quality of the pre-show magazine that was delivered was excellent – modern and fresh. The BV Magazine shine a light on so many local businesses and cover quality stories.’

“I’ve been so impressed with the BV; at Thorngrove we’re glad to be partnering with them. They’ve been accommodating to our needs, great to work with, and the digital magazine itself has a high production value and professional look that makes it the most high-end ‘local’ magazine in circulation.”

“The BV Magazine is a friendly publication, and the team always goes a long way to promote our brand. We appreciate their broad social media activity, and especially their willingness and flexibility when our plans change. Cultivating relationships is at the heart of what the BV is about, and that’s one of the many things that we love about working with them.”

Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival have been working with the BV magazine for some time, this year they became our official media partner. The digital coverage means that we can get news about the event and advertising across to many people outside the immediate area in an eco friendly way. The coverage we get is not only in the magazine but across their social media channels too, an additional bonus. Courtenay and Laura are a pleasure to work with, offering advice and help when asked. I highly recommend them and their digital ‘glossy’ magazine, it’s next level in terms of similar offerings.

“We can’t thank the BV enough for the help we have had advertising our events. It has made a huge difference to the numbers that see our events and then respond with buying tickets - one single event recently sold out after the BV promoted it in the magazine and across social media. An incredibly helpful team with a customer-orientated approach. We at The Exchange highly recommend them.”

Sharon Clifton

Manager at The Exchange

We are excited to be partnered with The BV magazine, which provides great news and insights for those in its community and afar. Both Laura and Courtenay are wonderful to work with and extremely accommodating to our requests. They support us and their readers in providing the right help and information. As a firm, we are pleased to be able to contribute to the magazine. We are also avid readers ourselves!

Courtenay and The BV have been hugely helpful and efficient when it comes to advertising the positions that Wessex Water recruit for. It’s been massively beneficial, and it is great to be working so effectively together.

Robert Knight

Resourcing Manager Wessex Water

Our job advert in The BV was successful, especially making use of the social media targeting – we had interest via email within a few hours. Reach to social groups resulted in a supply of suitable applicants, and I am both telling colleagues and advertising further work.

Fiona Black

Area Field Manager – Dorset, Somerset, Devon National Milk Records Limited

We have used The BV several times now for advertising our current vacancies – we have always had fantastic service from Courtenay who is very quick to respond to our enquiries and is flexible in the way in which he has been able to suit our needs. We have successfully appointed staff through this route of advertising too! We will certainly use The BV to advertise our vacancies in the future.

“Wow, what a brilliant service we received from The BV, Courtenay and his team. The pre-advertising communications with them were smooth and easy and the delivery of the whole thing was seamless and simple. What more could you ask for. Very happy and would definitely use them again.”

I run a free car and bike event in Sturminster Newton for the benefit of our local economy that was getting attendances of about 80-90. Courtenay from BV spoke to me about our requirements to expand the numbers through the summer. He produced marketing material, published it in BV and promoted it widely in Dorset. The next event had 200 vehicles. I put most of this down to the service provided by BV. I would definitely recommend them.

Thank you very much for publishing the article on Bere Knap and the accompanying (excellent) photographs. I was very happy, glad that it linked the art in the house with the architecture. I enjoyed showing you round and am grateful for your interest; I can't force all my neighbours to love the house, but they now have a chance of appreciating the thought which went into it. On a separate note, I've been rummaging through the back issues of The BV and have gleaned all sorts of useful info (mainly on artists and places to go walking!). And thank you for not committing to print!

Art Collector & Owner of The Red House

Having just received this month’s mag through my laptop letterbox, I wanted to offer you heartfelt mega congratulations on your stunning award. It could not have gone to a better pair of people or to a more deserving publication. I’m sure you are both so proud – as you very much should be! Everything you have achieved has been through damned hard work, stunning verve and a glorious warmth and intimacy towards your readers and your ‘patch’ which shines through in every new edition you produce. I salute you!!

Thank you so much for the article in the April issue – Julie wrote a really good insightful interview with me, I was very pleased. And your photographs were excellent, really capturing a relaxed and natural me (and Logan the dog struck a great pose, too – haa brilliant!). Thank you very much – it’s a very classy magazine and it really is a good read, so many interesting articles.
