Shillingstone will once again be welcoming Father Christmas and his ever- helpful Elves to the festively decorated Portman Hall on Sunday 24th November during our ever-popular annual Christmas Fayre. Our special guest will be assisted by committee member Ann Povey, who will be donning her Elf uniform to act as the ‘Special Local Elf of the Day’ to oversee proceedings and to help Father Christmas hand out gift to the children. (She will also be making sure that the roof of the hall is clear for the reindeer to park the invisible magical sleigh on). The event which is on from 12 noon until 4pm, will also be hosting various Crafters and Gift Makers who will be there to offer a range of gorgeous goodies to suit all your Christmas needs. They, like the real Elves in the North Pole, have been busy all year round preparing their wares. While perusing the stalls, you can take part in our brilliant main raffle or try to win a delicious Christmas Hamper. There will be the usual Treasure Hunt to find which mischievous Elf is hiding the Treasure this year, as well a chance to adopt a lonely and sad Teddy Bear looking for a new and loving home. While you ponder which gifts to buy, why not treat yourself to coffee and cake, or maybe a light lunch as you soak up the festive atmosphere. A free activity table will be provided for the excited children to enjoy as parents and grandparents catch up with friends while they await the results of the raffle. The funds raised from the Christmas Fayre will be going towards the cost of resurfacing our much used car park, so if you are planning on joining us, we thank you in advance.
